2010年的10月10日，My Little Pony正式推出了G4“Friendship is Magic” ，比起前几代，这些小马造型更加可爱，更加Q,小马驹也在G4首次推出了天角兽（羽翼独角兽），有9个比较常见的人物，乡村小马Applejack，温柔的天马Fluttershy，活泼的陆地小马Pinkie Pie，勇敢的天马Rainbow Dash，闪亮的独角兽rarity，魔法独角兽Twilight Sparkle，负责升降太阳的天角兽公主Celestia，负责升降月亮的天角兽公主Luna以及为小马们传播爱的天角兽Cadence（初登场于“皇城婚礼”）。 故事叙述一只叫暮光闪闪(Twilight Sparkle)的小马为了执行导师塞拉斯提娅公主（Princess Celestia）给她的任务，与助手斯派克（Spike）一起来到小马镇学习有关友谊的魔法的知识，其中她认识了苹果杰克（Applejack）、瑞瑞（Rarity）、小蝶（Fluttershy）、云宝黛西（Rainbow Dash）与萍琪（Pinkie Pie）五位好朋友，每只小马都代表着友谊的每个元素，并在和谐水晶（Elements of
